RapidCAM is parametric CAD/CAM for desktop CNC. It runs in your browser at rapidcam.app and as a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux (including from the Microsoft Store), and is made by Tutti Studios. This page covers both, and says what RapidCAM collects, what stays on your device, and what leaves it only when you ask. There is no advertising, nothing is sold, and nothing follows you to other sites.
The short version
- Your designs stay on your device unless you choose to send them somewhere.
- Usage analytics and crash reports are off until you say yes, and never collected at all if your browser sends Do Not Track.
- Session replay, which records your screen including your drawing, is a separate, stricter opt-in that is off by default.
- You can change both at any time under Help ▸ Privacy & Analytics.
What stays on your device
Everything you make and set up is stored in your browser's storage (or, in the desktop app,
the app's own storage on your computer): the open drawing and its autosave, recent files,
settings, your machine profile, your tool library, and your privacy choices. RapidCAM does
not have a server that receives your designs. Clearing the site's data in your browser
removes them. The desktop app keeps them in its own data folder, which uninstalling the
Microsoft Store version removes; the downloadable version leaves it in place so a
reinstall keeps your work, and you can delete it yourself (on Windows,
%APPDATA%\RapidCAM).
The browser version and the desktop app keep separate storage, and so does each web
address: the app moved from app.rcamhub.com to rapidcam.app in
September 2026, and anything stored under the old address stayed there.
Analytics and crash reports — only if you allow them
On first use RapidCAM asks whether it may send anonymous usage analytics and crash reports. Until you answer yes, nothing is sent, and the analytics code is not even downloaded. If your browser sends Do Not Track, you are never asked and nothing is ever sent.
If you allow it, RapidCAM sends:
- which parts of the app you use — coarse events such as "tool activated" or "file opened", and page views;
- the error message and stack trace when something goes wrong, which can include the name of a file you had open;
- the technical details every web request carries: browser and operating system, screen size, and your IP address, from which an approximate location is derived.
It does not send your geometry. A design opened from a share link is removed from the page address before analytics starts, so it cannot be recorded with a page view. Analytics is anonymous: RapidCAM does not attach your name or email to it. To recognise a returning visit, the analytics service stores an anonymous identifier in your browser once you have allowed it.
Session replay is a second, separate choice, off unless you tick it. It records what is on screen, including the pixels of your drawing, so that a problem can be watched as it happened. Leave it off to keep your geometry private.
Analytics, crash reports and replays are processed by PostHog, in the United States. Change your choices at any time under Help ▸ Privacy & Analytics; turning them off stops anything further being sent.
What leaves your device only when you ask
-
Share links. "Copy Share Link" puts the whole design inside the link
itself, after the
#. That part of an address is not sent to any server when the link is opened, so RapidCAM never receives it — but anyone you give the link to has the design. - rcamhub. "Save to rcamhub" sends the design and the details you type (title, summary, category, licence and tags) to rcamhub.com, where it is handled under rcamhub's privacy policy. To do that, you connect RapidCAM to your rcamhub account once; RapidCAM then keeps its own sign-in token on your device, and it never sees your password. Disconnect it any time under Connected apps on your rcamhub account page. Opening a design from rcamhub fetches that design from rcamhub.com.
- Your machine. Connecting to a machine over USB talks directly to that machine. Sending a program to gSender or ncSender sends it to the address you enter, usually on your own network. None of it goes to RapidCAM.
-
GEditor. Choosing GEditor when sending a program opens the G-code editor
at
editor.rapidcam.appin a new window and hands it the program inside your browser. - Web fonts. Browsing fonts in "Add a font from the web" loads previews from Google Fonts, and adding one downloads the font file from jsDelivr, or from the address you type. The font is then kept inside your design, so opening it later needs no download.
- Links out. The share buttons open X, Facebook, Reddit or your email program, and the About and Share dialogs show a "Buy me a coffee" button whose image is loaded from Buy Me a Coffee. Those sites handle what you do there under their own policies.
Who else handles it
- Vercel hosts rapidcam.app, and like any web host sees each request's IP address and browser details.
- PostHog — analytics, crash reports and replays, only if you allow them.
- Supabase — the sign-in service behind "Connect RapidCAM to rcamhub", only if you connect.
- Microsoft — if you install from the Microsoft Store, the Store handles the download and your Microsoft account under Microsoft's own terms.
Nobody else receives your data, and none of it is sold.
Children
RapidCAM is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Your choices and contact
You can turn analytics and replay off at any time, clear everything stored on your device through your browser's site settings, and disconnect RapidCAM from rcamhub. If you want analytics data about you deleted, or have any question about this page, email tutti.studios@gmail.com.
If you are in the UK or EU: the lawful basis for analytics, crash reports and replay is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Everything else RapidCAM does with your data is done on your own device, at your request.
